British Street Food Award’s Finalist for two years running, Kara Wilkinson, of Kara’s Kitchen has branched out to bring the people of Retford a brand new eatery.

Building on the success of Kara’s kitchen and her reputation for great tasting food, she has decided now it is time to take the next step in her career and have her own place which will act as a base for all of the food functions she is involved with.

KOOK at the Sherwood, is offering great pub food with a street food twist, tapas, great steaks, themed nights, all while in a funky vibe with live singers.

Kara’s fame in the food industry started 13 years ago when she owned a public house. Since then she has taken her food onto the streets and become well known for her Paella, which has seen her compete up and down the UK in the British Street Food Awards for two years running, being short listed to the top 12 in the country and receiving national praise.

She has since catered for numerous weddings, offered a fine dining experience at popular supper clubs in various venues and has been working out of The Galway Arms on a Sunday with her anything – but basic carvery.

“Food is my passion, it’s all about bringing people around a table and enjoying good food, it’s such a social thing, it gives me great satisfaction to feed fellow foodies”. – Kara Wilkinson
